Lamentation at 10am.
I was minding my own business. Clicking away on my keyboard, trying to make yet another deadline, that we have created ourselves, and as a return pressuring us to beat it.
At about 10 in the morning. Suddenly, a little shadow appear and making a loud "bonk!" right in front of my window. I awoke from my trance, stood up and guide my sight to the line of gravity down to the asphalt road about 20 feet below. A cowbird was laying on the warm morning asphalt, unable to move much or make much noise.
Came flew another bird, it's mate, searching for a sign of life and hope. Not much to be found, so it starts singing a song of lamentation. Not a song bird, it makes chirping that sadden even more. It's 11:38am now... It's still there ceremonially sad and loud. It's mate. Silence.
