This is a self titled album of the artist.
Folk-soul music... but more like music that are purified and simplify so that the verse becomes the more important part of the songs.
To me this is an amazing album that speaks to all the folks that are going somewhere, but at the moment working hard even struggling to get there. It is not a sad album but an album that is describing the real life struggle and thoughts that usually occured after work at 6:00pm at a bar somewhere.
Lee's music is so beautiful because they are not corrupted with commercialization, in short it's gold, just like
Bloody Sunday with U2,
Sometimes with Britney Spears and
Like a Virgin with Madonna.
I am not saying that Amos Lee is going to hit it big like U2, Britney or Madonna, but I am listening to his music more than any other CDs that I have since 30 days ago.
"... a thousand miles from the place I was born,
but when she wakes me she takes me back home."
from arms of a woman. And yes, for an imigrant like me who is about 5000 miles from home, it hits a spot... then again, I realized that almost everyone in America are imigrants from another states.
